With Microsoft's Fabric MCP servers
Microsoft publishes its own MCP servers for Fabric and Power BI. They manage workspaces and items, read files and run queries; Krusgraph works out how your tables relate, with the rule behind every link, checks it against the rows, and builds from that plan. Both can be added to the same client, each doing its own part:
- Workspaces, items and OneLake files: the local Fabric MCP Server (Learn) and the remote Fabric Core MCP server (tools reference).
- Questions to a Power BI semantic model or report: Fabric IQ MCP, read-only, with DAX queries under your own permissions.
- Editing a semantic model: the Power BI Modeling MCP server.
- T-SQL on a warehouse: the Fabric Data Warehouse MCP server (preview).
- Eventhouse and real-time data: Real-Time Intelligence MCP.
- Krusgraph: the plan (keys and relationships with their rules, checked against the rows) and what is built from it: the GraphQL API, the semantic model, views, silver and gold layers, drift monitoring, the item files for Git, and a check of an existing model against the plan.
A typical pairing: Microsoft's server finds the workspace and the lakehouse; Krusgraph plans it and drafts the model; Fabric IQ MCP then answers questions on the model once it exists. Krusgraph is an independent open-source project of Kruse Consulting AB and is not affiliated with Microsoft.
